In the 19th
century, pie safes were typified by trademark perforated-tin panels
that provided ventilation for food storage as well as protection
from flies and other insects. These perforations formed sharp indented
edges on the outside of the tin, which also discouraged crawling
bugs from entering. We inverted our panels to make them safer,
and we offer the option of copper instead of the traditional
tin front.
Our Pie Safes are fitted with two adjustable shelves.
